What is Birchbox you ask? It is a monthly subscription service which allows you to receive 5-7 samples and sometimes full sized products of well known beauty, hair and make-up products from well known companies.
What’s in the box?

Birchbox Happy Days Photo Clip (RRP £10.00)
Benefit It’s Potent! Eye Cream 30g (RRP £25.50)

Premae Mild Pro Dermabraison – This is a vegan body scrub that contains olive granules which leaves your skin feeling smooth. The product aids to combat those blemishes, decongested pores and that dull lack-lustre skin leaving your skin feeling revitalised and refreshed.
I like this product, the fact that it uses natural ingredients draws me in and makes me want to try it. When the cream is applied to your face it is lightweight and thin but not too runny that it drips off your face, it has small granules that acts as a exfoliator leaving your skin as soft as a babies bottom! I am pleased with this product and will quite possibly purchase the full size in time.
Beauty Blender & Blender Cleanser Solid – This is a make-up sponge that is without any edges which aims to eliminate visible lines and streaks in your foundation. Birchbox claim that “This little egg-shaped miracle will leave your make-up base looking flawless”. How do you use the beauty blender? You wet the sponge and squeeze all the excess water out, you then gently roll the beauty blender against your face from side to side which is called stippling. This will allow your make-up to blend without creating changes in the texture or tone of your skin. The beauty blender also has a pointed side which allows for those hard-to-reach spots.
I was excited to find out that this product would be included in the box, I have seen it around Instagram and have read extremely good reviews of this. What is it like? well absolutely AMAZING! I love it.. forget those foundation brushes that make my skin streaky with foundation. I have been using this ever since receiving my Birchbox and I must say I am extremely pleased with it if you have not guessed already. Can it get any better? Yes it can, the blender cleanser solid smells of lavender which is a lovely touch. I have not used the cleanser yet but I am sure it will work wonders.
Birchbox Happy Days Photo Clip – This pretty much does what it says, it is a photo clip for your photographs, so if you have photographs and would like them displayed then this is for you! It is a nice touch to the box.
Benefit It’s Potent! Eye Cream – This cream aims to preserve the elasticity of the delicate under eye area whilst also protecting the skin from free radicals. The eye cream contains a team of actives which includes cocoa extract which aims to boost microcirculation to help fade the look of dark circles.
I have been lusting over Benefit’s products for quite some time, the packaging of their products are extremely cute and eye-catching and plus lots of fantastic reviews. So this is my first Benefit product which I was so excited and I must admit the main reason I bought this box, though I have read mixed reviews of this eye cream. I have been applying it twice daily as suggested, I can’t say that I have noticed a big difference but quite possibly a slight one.. my eyes do not seem to look as dull even with lack of sleep so I will continue trailing this until the pot is empty. What I like about this product is that it comes in a cute small glass pot, and the packaging of It’s Potent! as all Benefit products is incredibly cute. The cream is lightweight and only a small amount is needed to cover your whole under eye which is great as the small pot will go further. So far so good I am quite pleased with the results, I shall follow this up when the pot is empty.
ModelCo Lip Laquer Viva – ModelCo Lip Laquer a long-wearing, highly pigmented formula which delivers a luxe glossy pout. The dense, high-colour gloss glides on smoothly for a non-sticky, long-lasting finish that gives hydrating all-day moisture.
I was not so keen on this product, the colour and just the fact that it is a lip gloss. Unfortunately I do not wear lip glosses as I don’t like the glossy texture, I would much rather a lipstick. When applying this it felt quite thick and sticky, which the product claims not to be. I shall be giving this away and definitely not be purchasing this product again.
Agave Healing Oil Treatment – Agave extract is a key ingredient in this oil which was created by Beverly Hills hairdresser Fernando Romero. This lightweight oil helps hair build resiliency as it boots vibrancy, shine and colour. This oil treatment is also fantasitcly good for your hair being free of parabens, sulphates and phthalates.
Unfortunately I have not had chance to try this product out but after reading the description I am excited to. Even better only a 5p-sized amount of oil run through damp hair is needed which is great, it goes a long way.
Last but not least
Urban Fruit Pineapple – These yummy treats are 100% fruit snacks containing no added sugars or additives. They sound great. They really are yummy which is a lovely touch to the box. Even my daughter enjoyed a few of these too.
Overall, I am impressed with September’s Birchbox but I think I will be holding out to resubscribe until I find another fantastic box like this.
