Bare Minerals | Bare Skin Foundation (RRP £26.00)
I have read quite a lot of good reviews regarding Bare Minerals as a company and their Bare Skin foundation so after receiving an offer to try a sample of their foundation I headed to House of Fraser in Manchester to get a colour match. The staff were lovely and welcoming, i’m always super shy when meeting new people but she was lovely and she matched my skin to bare porcelain giving me a small sample tube of the foundation also.
“Our first ever mineral foundation and skincare serum in one. This ultra-thin, skin-perfecting fluid provides seamless adjustable coverage, a natural finish and the look and feel of beautiful skin.”
This foundation is not like any other it is a tone-correcting mineral foundation and skincare serum in one, with the added bonus that it is natural! NO parabens. Now to the review.
When I got the sample home I instantly tested it as I had already been wearing M.A.C. Studio Fix SPF 15 all day so when I had the colour match I just had it tested on my jaw line. Upon first impressions the foundation was quite watery and thin which is not what I am used to when using foundations I was not sure whether this was a good or bad thing.
It is suggested that you start with one drop buffing it onto your skin and then repeat for your desired coverage, though I found that after 4 or more drops dark circles and spots were still visible. I also found that after moisturising and using face primer there were parts of my face that looked flakey after applying the Bare Minerals foundation which does not happen usually. I must say that I am quite disappointed that this foundation did not work for me after reading the good reviews and the description of the product.
Overall, Bare Minerals did not work for my skin, I am not sure as to why but after several attempts of application on different days it does not seem to like it. The foundation did not cover over those pesky dark circles, spots, red patches and leaving my face with some dry flakey patches as you can see in the photos.
Have you tried Bare Minerals before? What did you think? I would love to know.
