ELF Cosmetics | Getting Your Lips Autumn Ready

IMG_7533ED

I absolutely ADORE the autumn and winter months, so as soon as September approached I did a little squeal of excitement. Everything just feels SO much more cosier, give me all of the knitted jumpers, candles & hot chocolates.. cliche I know but I love it. Unfortunately for me what comes with the colder weather is dry lips so getting them autumn ready is essential!

IMG_7534ED

A good lip scrub is definitely needed to try and tackle those pesky dry lips, I tended to reach for Lush’s Santa Baby Lip Scrub but it does tend to be quite dry and ends up all over your finger so when I was that ELF had their own lip scrub that came presented like a lipstick I NEEDED it.

I was kindly sent the *ELF Studio Lip Exfoliator (£4.50) in sweet cherry, as mentioned the lip exfoliator comes in a lipstick container which makes it SO much easier to apply and completely mess free. The product is creamy but yet gently exfoliates your lips removing any dry and chapped skin. The studio lip exfoliator is infused with Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Avocado, Grape and Jojoba Oils leaving you with that perfect base for any matte lipsticks!

This lip exfoliator has been a life saver, I have absolutely no problems what so ever when applying my matte lipsticks. My favourite go to autumn lipsticks have the be Kat Von D in Exorcism, Revlon Super Lustrous in Black Cherry, Sleek Makeup Matte Lipsticks in Vinto Tinto, Urban Decay in Disturbed and NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme in Havana.

How do you get your lips autumn ready? Do you have a favourite product?

E.L.F Makeup Review

I recently placed an order with E.L.F. Cosmetics, i’ve never tried their products before but have heard good reviews and as a bonus, they are CHEAP!

First up to review is the three nail polishes, I am quite a fan of nail polish as I feel naked without it, although a lot of polishes need several coats and tend to chip fairly quickly which I have found was not the case with these products.

e.l.f. Nail Polish – Metal Madness* (RRP £2.50)

Metal Madness has to be my favourites of the three purchased, it has a lovely dull grey metal look with a fine grained glitter which leaves an almost flat finish over the traditional coarse finish in many other glitter polishes.

e.l.f. Nail Polish – Cranberry* (RRP £2.50) :

Next up is Cranberry, this polish gives a fantastic shine on your nails creating a vibrant but flat cranberry red base. I had to have this colour especially as it is a one of the discontinued nail polishes currently on sale for £1 – you can’t turn down that price.

e.l.f. Nail Polish – Plum* (RRP £2.50) :

Finally Plum, I love the colour purple and every single shade grabs my attention immediately. This shade is a deep plum purple with a slight tinge of glitter which looks fantastic in contrast to the Metal Madness.

“Key nutrients give nails that natural shine, infused with Vitamin E for stronger, healthier nails. Our formula is FREE of: Toluene, Formaldehyde, and Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP)”

e.l.f. Eyebrow Kit – Medium (RRP £3.95) :

I decided to try out e.l.f.’s eyebrow kit as using eyebrow powder rather than pencil was suggested to me by a beauty therapist to give a more natural look to my eyebrows. I found it reasonably easy to apply using the Fräulein3°8 eyebrow brush rather than the one supplied with the kit. Overall I am quite pleased with the product, the only disadvantage is that the small brush supplied with the kit as it is quite fiddly but this can be easily resolved with the above method.

e.l.f. All Over Cover Stick – Apricot Beige (RRP £1.95) :

I thought that I would try an all over cover stick to try and tackle those pesky under eye dark circles that many of us mums frequently fight with. Whilst testing this product I noticed that it had a lovely creamy texture that made it easier to apply to my skin via brush. Once the product was applied to my skin it did not feel or look oily giving a lovely matt look and eliminating those dark circles as you can see from the pictures below.

e.l.f. Brush Shampoo 120ml (RRP £3.95) :

I have found this product to be absolutely fantastic to use on my Fräulein3°8 makeup brushes and making that deep clean much easier, it removes all of the built up makeup such as colourful lipsticks extremely well and restoring the brush to its original condition. I would definitely buy this product again and recommend it to other makeup users. So get yourselves onto the e.l.f. website and pamper those makeup brushes!

e.l.f. Studio Makeup Mist & Set 60ml (RRP £3.95) :

Once I had applied this product there was a lovely fresh natural smell, the product contains aloe, green tea, cucumber and vitamins A,C & E which creates an uplifting and refreshing feel to your whole face. I decided to leave this product as the last to review as I wanted to see the outcome after several hours of wear. I have found that a few hours after the mist and set was applied to the makeup it remained intact with no smudging or discolouration.
