ELF Cosmetics | Getting Your Lips Autumn Ready

I absolutely ADORE the autumn and winter months, so as soon as September approached I did a little squeal of excitement. Everything just feels SO much more cosier, give me all of the knitted jumpers, candles & hot chocolates.. cliche I know but I love it. Unfortunately for me what comes with the colder weather is dry lips so getting them autumn ready is essential!

A good lip scrub is definitely needed to try and tackle those pesky dry lips, I tended to reach for Lush’s Santa Baby Lip Scrub but it does tend to be quite dry and ends up all over your finger so when I was that ELF had their own lip scrub that came presented like a lipstick I NEEDED it.

I was kindly sent the *ELF Studio Lip Exfoliator (£4.50) in sweet cherry, as mentioned the lip exfoliator comes in a lipstick container which makes it SO much easier to apply and completely mess free. The product is creamy but yet gently exfoliates your lips removing any dry and chapped skin. The studio lip exfoliator is infused with Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Avocado, Grape and Jojoba Oils leaving you with that perfect base for any matte lipsticks!

This lip exfoliator has been a life saver, I have absolutely no problems what so ever when applying my matte lipsticks. My favourite go to autumn lipsticks have the be Kat Von D in Exorcism, Revlon Super Lustrous in Black Cherry, Sleek Makeup Matte Lipsticks in Vinto Tinto, Urban Decay in Disturbed and NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme in Havana.

How do you get your lips autumn ready? Do you have a favourite product?

Glossy Box | October

Glossy Box – October (RRP £10 plus £3.25 p&p)

Firstly I must comment on the box design of this months Glossybox, it is absolutely stunning and so vibrant with the pop art Roy Lichtenstein style. This months box contains a generous amount of products 4 of which are  full sized products, including a good mix of both beauty and skincare. This months box also tested out using a paperless card which is great!

What’s in the box?

Nuxe Créme Fraîche De Beauté Mask 50ml (RRP £19.50)

ÊTRE Belle Cosmetics Liplift Peel 15ml (RRP €12.95)

So Susan Cosmetics Flutter Mascara 4ml (RRP £14.95)

Ciaté London Paint Pot 13.5ml (RRP £9)

Yves rocher France Quelques Notes D’amour 5ml (30ml RRP £33)

Rimmel London BB Cream Matte 8ml (30ml RRP £6.99)

Nuxe Créme Fraîche De Beauté Mask

This is product is A 24 hour moisturising mask which hydrates and soothes skin to reduce redness leaving your skin looking radiant. This mask is to be applied either once or twice a week to your face and eye area, you leave the mask on for 10 minutes and then massage any excess into your skin using your fingertips. I was not sure what to think with this mask as when applying it to my face it felt quite thin like a moisturiser and not so mask like so it seemed that it would dry up quite quickly, however it did stay wet during the full 10 minutes. Upon first impressions there is a quite strong flowery/perfume scent of the mask which is nice but can quite over powering at some points especially if your applying it before bedtime. Once the mask has been applied and 10 minutes later I smoothed the excess into my face but afterwards it still felt wet almost oily even after half an hour, my face also looked quite shiny and still had red patches however, my skin looked refreshed and felt amazingly soft.

ÊTRE Belle Cosmetics Liplift Peel

This moisturising lip exfoliator removes dead skin cells refining the skins surface for perfectly soft lips, you apply this by using a small amount gently, using a circular motion across your lips for about one minute. Seriously this product could not have come at a better time, I have been on the look out for a lip scrub as my lips are prone to becoming dry and chapped. This product has been absolutely amazing and a life saver at rescuing them they look incredibly smooth and soft without dry skin in sight.

So Susan Cosmetics Flutter Mascara

This flutter mascara is an intense carbon-black mascara which is formulated with hyaluronic spheres to achieve the darkest, curviest lashes. I love love love the packaging of this mascara, it is simply beautiful and a lovely touch with the swallow printed on the brush applicator. When using this product it makes my lashes look stunning, the carbon-black brings out the blue in my eyes though I have found that it does not really give much curve to them like some other mascaras I have used. A down fall to the product is that runs to my under eye quite easy which is a huge pain when you have just applied your foundation. Though there are other great aspects of this mascara such as, I have found it does not clump my eyelashes which I have always found a problem in many mascaras I have used. Though it claims not to be scented it certainly smells absolutely amazing. A major plus point for this product is that it is cruelty free which I support.

Ciaté London Paint Pot Talent Scout

This Ciaté nail polish fits in with the box’s theme being a vibrant colour, I received a gorgeous purple which is my favourite. This nail polish is packed with pigmentation and with just one stroke on your nails they are left bursting with a stunning royal purple colour. As mentioned before in my July 2013 Glossybox you only need one coat of this to have full coverage over your nails.

Yves rocher France Quelques Notes D’amour

This perfume is fused with notes of damascus rose, guaiac wood and patchouli and smells stunning, keeping it short and sweet I love it, I think it is definitely an autumn perfume.

Rimmel London BB Cream Matte

This product is a multitasking 9-in-1 skin perfecting makeup cream that creates a flawless matte look. I do not like BB creams as I have recently purchased the Maybelline BB cream in light which I did not like. It seems that even the light tones have quite a dark tint on my face, though these may work for those who aren’t pale skinned.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with this Glossybox, the products that are in it are fantastic and the majority received 5/5. I can not wait to see what is in next months box, it has been teased that there will be a Lollypop Paris Eyeliner in every box!
