Celebrate Father’s Day with Baker Days & Competition

When it comes to buying gifts for people I absolutely suck at it, with most of my family members I find it impossible to buy for so any sites that make gift buying easier i’m all for it. So if you struggle to find gifts like I do then you have to get yourself over to baker days.

The baker days website is really easy to navigate, you can choose between cakes and cupcakes allowing you to have a pre-made design or why not personalise it. The cakes allow you to choose from a variety of options whether it would be a letter box cake or a large cake and a variety of cake fillings giving you lots of options for your delicious sweet gift. The letter box cakes range from £14.99 to £17.99 depending on what you have chosen for your filling.

So once you’ve chosen your cake size, sponge type, design and personalised your special gift if you wish your ready to go. If you’ve ordered before 2pm then you’ll have your cake next working day!

All of baker days letterbox cakes are around 5″ and sent in a gift tin allowing your special gift to arrive in perfect condition and keeping it fresh for up to 14 days. The cakes come complete with candles and balloons, and their large cakes come with a beautiful cake slicer, it really does add a special touch to a cake delivery service.

I opted for the rich chocolate chip sponge, but you can choose from lovely lemon drizzle, traditional sponge, fabulous fruit, dairy free sponge and gluten wheat free sponge. I was a little optimistic about the sponge remaining moist but the sponge was full of flavour and not the slightest bit dry remaining in tip top condition, literally dent free thanks to the little cute tin cake it comes in. I’d say that the letter box cake gives you around 4-5 servings depending on how big you like your slices, to be honest I could probably polish off a full one *hides*.

The price of the cake does seem pretty much on the steep side, but honestly it’s worth it especially if it is a gift for a loved one.

Love the sound of a letter box cake? well why not treat your Dad this Father’s Day by entering my competition below to win your own!

The Magic Candy Factory!

PicMonkey Collage.jpgI was kindly invited along to the Katje’s 3D Printed Candy event in Cardiff with my husband, the event was on a stall in the shopping centre which is not the kind of event i’ve been to before.

“The Magic Candy Factory is the world’s first 3D gummy candy printer which gives the customer’s imagination all the power and allow them to create truly customised & delicious gifts and treats.”

When we arrived we were greeted by the lovely team and the founder Melissa Snover who showed us the 3D printers which were absolutely beautiful, the printer was in a wooden case with stunning laser cut wooden case, they looked really elegant. The printer allows you to create your very own unique design which practically can be in the form of any design, shapes, letters, photos etc. Once sent to the printer it prints in under 5 minutes, and what’s even better they’re free from everything! that’s right, they are vegan, gluten-free, nut free & dairy free.

These incredibly yummy treats are a perfect gift for all sweet lovers especially with Christmas next week, being a vegetarian I am forever scrolling through the ingredients list to see if they are suitable for me to eat because lets admit it I do love my sweet stuff! Whats good about The Magic Candy Factory is that there is no reading the labels and worrying if they are ok for you to eat.

You can print these yummy treats in a variety of flavours, strawberry, ripe raspberry, marvellous mango, luscious lemon, beautiful blackcurrant, elegant elderberry, gorgeous apple and tasty tropical blue and then finish them off with three different sprays, glitter dust, sour dust and fizzy dust.

Pre Christmas Haul

H&M Galaxy Pj & Leggings Set £14.99

When it comes to H&M clothing I just can’t say no unless I can’t squeeze myself into them then that’s a different story, pyjamas to me are essential at Christmas time or any time for that matter, personally I always request them every year as a present from my Husband. To me there is nothing better than getting into fresh bedding with brand new pjs on!

These galaxy cuffed jersey pjs are super comfortable and stretchy, I tend to go for the cuffed leg pjs as they stay in place at night instead of riding up your leg in turn making you uncomfortable and dancing around the bed.

H&M Grey Chunky Knit Jumper £24.99

I am forever obsessing with chunky knit jumpers they just look that little bit more cosier with the colder months, so this one was a no brainer especially as it is from H&M too. This jumper looks great with some high waisted jeans and little black ankle boots.

New Look Burgundy Boucle Textured Longline Cardigan £24.99

This chunky thick burgundy cardigan is perfect for winter, it comes just above the knee and looks great with a little black t-shirt or long sleeved. The cardigan has little flecks of holographic threads which gives it that snowy and Christmassy feel.

Urban Decay Shadow Box £23

Being a beauty blogger makeup is always on my to buy list especially Urban Decay, their product range is gorgeous. This shadow box palette has 12 incredible shades for £23 which allows you to create several awesome eye looks including a couple of perfect shades for Christmas day! Urban Decay’s eyeshadow palettes never fall short of being super pigmented, creamy and blendable as you can see from the photos.

Shades: Sin, Indo, Bordello, Tornado, Smog, Blackout, Flash, Mushroom, Lost, Freelove, Moonshadow and Baked Cowboy

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick £15

I am absolutely obsessed with lipsticks at the moment I feel quite bare when i’m not wearing any, especially when it comes to the deeper berry wintery shades. This lipstick is part of their comfort matte range in the shade Disturbed which is like a burnt burgundy. If you don’t like red lipstick then this might be for you, it’s deeper and darker which is perfect for both subtle eye makeup and a smokey eye look.

Kiko Skin Modernist 2-in-1 Foundation and Concealer £18.90

I was in desperate need for some new foundation and have heart great things about Kiko Cosmetics so I grabbed this 2-in-1 foundation and concealer in the shade warm rose. The foundation comes with a doe foot applicator which is something different from what i’ve used before. This foundation claims to give a flawless natural satin look which lasts all day long so i’m excited to test it out.

Waterstones Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them Book £8.49

I don’t tend to read a lot of books but I would love to so where better to start than Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, it is definitely on the list of things to do in the New Year. The book is beautifully presented with a gorgeous royal blue and gold cover giving it that magical feeling.

Wilko Glow Jewellery Hex Trinket £5

This has literally saved my life, I am forever needing somewhere to put my jewellery but always forget to pick something up. This elegant but cute copper mirrored trinket is the perfect to store all your favourite jewellery.

Toddler Stocking Filler Ideas

kidsstocking

ARGH!! Finally, my first Christmas post! Scarlett has been under the weather as well as myself so the amount of blogging i’ve gone done is absolutely zilch which sucks. So December is here and Christmas is TWO weeks away, where the hell has 2014 gone?? During the last week or so we started the dreaded Christmas present buying, I wish we would have started sooner but with the wedding to pay for we didn’t have chance. When it came to buying Scarlett’s Christmas presents I had absolutely no idea what to buy her, I mean she can’t tell me what she wants, so it’s like present roulette! so I thought I would create a Christmas stocking filler guide to help out other mummies and daddies who must be in the same dilemma as me. I have filled her stocking with a variety of things from chocolates, toys and bath products varying in different prices though all under £10, so heres a couple of ideas of what you could fill your toddler’s stocking with.

Treat Republic Wedding Gifts

I have always been one that struggles to buy people wedding gifts as many of you may too I don’t know why but my mind just goes blank so money is usually my best option, but Treat Republic have everything you might want for the happy couple.

“Treat Republic began from a passion for gifting and creative personalisation and launched in 2012 with the aim of making personalised gifts that were inspired by all the things we love.”

treatrepublic2

Treat Republic were looking to work with bloggers who are getting married this year and kindly gifted me two products from their wedding collection to review on my blog. I was sent their *You Captured My Heart necklace (£29.99) a gorgeous sterling silver necklace with a beautiful silver crystal heart and fresh water pearl which is a special gift for any lady on their wedding day. To give the necklace that extra special touch it comes with a story card which reads ‘You hold my heart and all within, It now belongs to you and only you, This necklace symbolises our unique bond which I will always love and cherish’.

I am a huge fan of wearing necklaces and I could definitely picture this looking perfect with my dress on my wedding day and also it is really lightweight and comfortable to wear. In my opinion the necklace looks really expensive and high quality but yet simple and elegant which no doubt would make any bride feel special.

I was also sent their personalised *Waiter’s Friend Wine Set (£49.99), which is a great gift for the wine lovers like my partner, the gift set comes with a handy little knife, cork screw and bottle opener also a soft leather case to keep it in. The set feels really high quality and I love how this wine set is very personal to the couple with the surname initial and first names printed onto the gorgeous solid wood presentation box.

The 3-in-1 waiters friend is really nice quality with a gorgeous wooden handle and brushed aluminium finish. I must compliment Treat Republic on the outstanding quality of the design that has been printed onto the box, I believe that it would definitely be a special and meaningful gift for the happy couple.
