The Charming Candle Co

I have a never ending love for candles, I actually blame my mum because she was obsessed and I’ve always been brought up with like a million dotted around the house.  I think that candles just always make the room look 100 times cosier when lit, perfect for my Netflix binging of course. So when I had to opportunity to review The Charming Candle Co new jewellery candles (£35) it was obviously a no brainer, I’d be silly not too right!?!

If you have not heard of The Charming Candle Co before then they are a new company just founded in 2017, with a mission to shake up gift-giving. Want to know more? Read ahead.

“We’re new, and we want to be different. We think gifts should be interesting.”

Firstly what instantly catches my eye is the packaging, the candle comes in a gorgeous white box with gold enhancements. Inside your eyes are treated with a beautifully designed candle which comes with gold illustrations printed on clear glass it just looks magical and high quality. The candles are all hand made using natural wax, reusable jars, cotton wicks which are free from lead, tin and zinc, absolutely no bad stuff.

The Charming Candle Co currently have a range of candles all for £35 each allowing you to choose either a charm or jewellery, they currently have Luscious Vanilla, Fresh Linen, Pina Colada, Lavender Spa, Pink Champagne and Paradise Beach.

When it comes to buying candles I always look for the scent rather than how pretty it looks and also how powerful that scent is, because there is nothing worse than a stinky candle and having it burn it for hours without any scent pay off! But you really don’t have that problem with The Charming Candle Co, the scent is strong which you can even smell before you have opened the packaging, always a good sign.

I was kindly sent Luscious Vanilla* which is a rich, warming, creamy concoction. Luscious vanilla has top notes of rich Madagascan vanilla pods whipped to a buttery frenzy with a hint of nutmeg. As soon as I opened the box I recognised the scent which it’s similar to the smell of Lush’s Fun bars so of course I fell in love instantly. As mentioned there is nothing worse than burning a candle with no scent pay off, the candle burns filling your room with a stunning rich vanilla scent which literally spreads throughout the house, it smells AMAZING.

“Scent has the power to define an atmosphere and elevate your mood. Jewellery has the power to be this one little thing that makes you feel unique Surprise! The thrill of discovering what jewellery you get each time is highly addictive”

Just when you think this Candle can’t get any better, it does. The two wick candle comes with a hidden piece jewellery or charm depending on which you choose, so the general idea is that you burn away your candle to reveal your hidden surprise, but be careful because the wax is hot!

I’ve found that you have to burn your candle for a good few hours, I believe mine took around 3-4 hours to reveal the hidden surprise which is covered in foil but then a further hour or so to be able to fully get the foiled piece out.

After much anticipation of what you are going to find in your candle here comes the big reveal, I waited for the foil to cool and was greeted by a beautiful silver rocking horse charm stamped 925 so it is real sterling silver, it is simply beautiful. The charm will fit perfectly on my themed Pandora bracelet for my little girl as each charm has a meaning. The candle still has around 50+ hours left allowing you to enjoy for a movie night, pamper evening or just day to day burning.

The Big Smoke Candle ‘Escape to Jaipur’

greatescape

A couple of weeks ago I won a competition over at Heather’s blog, Of Beauty and Nothingness for a Great Escape candle. I was literally over the moon when it was announced I have a huge obsession with candles, I think that they just instantly make any room look so much cosier. Great Escape are a company admittedly I have not heard of before which I wish I had known about sooner!

Great Escape currently have a collection ‘The Big Smoke Crackling Candle’ which includes 4 beautiful candles, Escape to Paris, Escape to Honolulu, Escape to Jaipur and Escape to Mississippi

I received the Escape to Jaipur candle (£22.00) which is a lovely spiced ginger candle, perfect for this time of year. When the candle arrived it came in a gorgeous presentation box, looking very gift like which makes it feel that more special and perfect for any gift buying opportunities especially as Christmas is fast approaching.

“Jaipur is a colourful Indian city with chaotic streets, dawdling camels and breathtaking sights. This luxury, hand poured candle is made using EcoSoya soy wax and scented with a stimulating fragrance of spiced ginger.”

What I absolutely love about this candle is that it features a wooden wick that when burning it resembles a crackling fire making your living room even more cosier during these colder months. The scent is a lovely spiced ginger which is a subtle scent but yet fills the whole room, it makes you want to just grab every blanket in the house, light the candle and cosy up with a film.

This candle isn’t like your ordinary candle, it is made from soy wax using soy beans which is a renewable resource, this is better for both you and the environment which is always a bonus when buying things. Can it get any better?! well, yes these beautiful autumnal candles burn for approximately 40 hours which is brilliant for candle lovers like myself.

What’s your favourite candle scent?

Nextmas Wish List

I love Next clothing! the design and quality is just simply amazing, which I usually buy quite a lot for my little lady from Next. I have already done a wish list perviously which you can see over at Written In Black And White. Christmas to me means being with my little family, all cosy curled up watching christmas films – so the items on my wish list resemble that. Next got in touch via email asking bloggers to make a Christmas wish list from their products, I headed over to their site and decided on my top 10 items.

Linear Leaf Cotton Print Bed Set (RRP £40)

I am slightly obsessed with bedding, I know it’s strange but I can help but buy loads of gorgeous bedsheets because where you sleep has to look pretty right!? Another obsession of mine is also monochrome so this leaf print bed set ticks all the right boxes for me.

Metallic Trapeze Sweater – Berry (RRP £22)

I love this berry coloured sweater it is simply gorgeous, I also always love the comfy look – baggy t-shirts so again another item that ticks all the right boxes, and plus don’t you think this would be perfect for christmas!

Robin Pyjamas (RRP £28)

This really is a post about many of my obsessions but why not, it is a wish list after all. I love my pyjamas, I literally would live in them if I could and especially as christmas is on it’s way then these ‘Robin Pyjamas’ are just perfect.

English Rose Printed Patchwork Cotton Throw (RRP £80)

I love blankets too along with bedding, so this patchwork throw would definitely go together with the’Linear Leaf Cotton Print Bed Set’. There is nothing worse than being cold – I would definitely rather be too hot so I love lots of blankets in my house. I could just imagine being curled up on the sofa, candles out and a cup of tea with this blanket watching all the christmas films.. sounds perfect doesn’t it!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Eau De Toilette 100ml (RRP £70)

I love my perfume especially Marc Jacobs Daisy which I am running low on, but I thought I would try another and Daisy Dream caught my eye, it smells absolutely stunning.

Echo Floor Lamp (RRP £60)

Were currently in the process of trying to find a bigger house, this floor lamp would fit perfectly in our living room and make it look super cosy!

Rustic Wood House (RRP £22)

Last but not least on my wish list is this gorgeous ‘Rustic Wood House’ just look at it! it’s a beauty. This  would definitely fit perfect in my living room.

Have you got a Next christmas wish list? I’d love to have a read!
